TX: Public awareness event at the Texas Civil Commitment Program

posted on FAC website 3/18/22

April 9th, 10:30am Central Time, in front of the Texas Civil Commitment Center,

2600 S. Sunset Ave, Littlefield, Texas 79339 @ 10:30am

Please join us for a public awareness event at the Texas Civil Commitment Program on Saturday, April 9 to rally against abuses within the program and call for a meaningful pathway to release.

Our plan for those who will be coming into town Friday the 8th of April, (the day before) is to stay at the Best Western Inn located at 2600 Hall Ave in Littlefield, Texas 79339. They provide free breakfast in the mornings, so I would like to get together and have breakfast between 8-9am on the 9th.

At approximately 10:15 am, we will drive to the facility which is approximately 5 minutes away. Where we will have a “honk-in” as we drive by. So basically drive in a convoy and as we pass the men at rec, to lay on the horns to show them that we are here, that we love them, that we support them and they are not alone.  Immediately following the “honk-in” we will drive to our destination and set up. Have a small presentation, then begin our PUBLIC AWARENESS EVENT.

Please bring a chair. There will be water and snacks provided.
