Source:  foxnews.com 11/10/22

A child molester in Southern California was sentenced to 610 years in prison on Tuesday, after being found guilty of molesting a child from the ages of 4 to 6 years old

Travis Edward ____, a Santa Paula resident, sexually abused a child in Ventura County and Orange County from 2019 to 2021.

“The 610 years to life sentence will serve to protect our community and demonstrates that there is zero tolerance for the sexual abuse and exploitation of children,” the statement added.

All I can say is Damn!

1. Notice: what’s in your face above (before) the Article. The placement is intentional- but has zero to do with this case.
It’s an attention getting ploy out of a text book.
2. The man found guilty for as sentenced to 610 Years. He is 37y.o.a.
and had a history of similar crimes. He’s got 30-50 years left.
@610÷30 appx. = 20.3 life terms, @610÷50 appx.10.2 life terms.
3. His sentence structure is “an indeterminate term between 10.2 to 20.3 life terms to life.”
4. He took 1 picture probably on his cellphone- I presume if there was more……more cases. Seems not a lot for two years.
5. He plead. At least it’s hinted to but not stated directly.
6. Note link to another sex crlme piece– also not about this case.
7. Its fox affiliate owned by R. Murdock. Not an American.
8. Given the sentence: “The abuse began when the child was 4 years old and continued until 2021” I’d say the author has a need to take English composition again.
9. No loss of life, no mention of pain anguish, fear. No victims statement– not even family.
10. Who is CA going to let hit the bricks?

Well deserved his fate. He should have learned from the consequences of his prior conduct. I advocate for second chances, but I think it’s entirely appropriate for stiff punishment should one not avail themselves of the opportunity to live differently.

I’ve always believed that if a harsh sentence like this won’t deter sex crimes for some individuals, the registry certainly won’t. It also does a poor job at keeping the community safe from such individuals. We need more focus on preventative treatment opportunities and education for families on how to better protect their children.

Good job im glad the DA was able to put this guy away for life

thank god the repubs didnt get their red wave it was the party of revenge vs the party of absurdity! 610 years. thatle show him!

Can’t have pity for someone engaging in the same nonsense. Is it over kill? Yes, but it is what it is.

Not going to comment other than to say this person has serious problems and evidently isn’t looking to get help for them.

@VenturaCountyDA how come your lame assed registry didnt protect us ? registry=total POS

Repeat offenses really hurt us as a community. When one offends then you hear all the hysteria that any and all sex offenders should be locked away becasue they can’t be rehabilitated. But we know the vast majority never offend again. It has been 17 years for me, offense free.

610 years? What message does that send to people who are more brutal & demented than this man? They would just kill the kid to keep him from talking. It increases their odds of not getting caught. And if they did get caught, they would get the same penalty as if they had only molested the boy..

That sentence is so absurd it sends no other message than “people who molest children are not to be treated as human beings but as sub-humans”.

The guy clearly has severe mental issues, and he is ultimately responsible for his actions. But if his issues are so severe that he would recidivate after going through the criminal punishment system, I don’t think an absurd escalation of that punishment is going to do anything. He needs lots of treatment to overcome his mental issues.

But I guess that’s not the point. See my first sentence. As far as our system is concerned, he has forfeited his right to be considered fully human. And in my estimation that is an immoral system, no matter how heinous the crime.

I think the REG is the life sentence for atleast most on here in Cali., the SHOWING the Judge is doing will STOP NOTHING except making the parents feel good temp.

The sentence will be UNKNOWN to all incoming NEW CASES and makes NO DIFFERENCE on one person’s sentence even in resp. Co. of Ventura / OC.

P E R I O D

LIFE ON THE REGISTRY and hassled for online access if beyond normal punishment and, what MURDERER got less than 610 yrs PLUS the Reg.
??????

610 years , no one was killed , Judge is in need of a sentencing , plainly thinks its better to kill them than molest them , got to wonder what is in this judges closet . I ain’t even saying its ok what this person did to this child is ok , but I am willing to bet the judge and the people that think this 610 years is fair have done much worse . I can’t even believe on this site people think this judgement is deserving ! I say if there is going to be a registry you should most likely be listed as the monster , not some dude that has mental issues and not just fell through the cracks , but stomped through the cracks to make you feel better about your self , It sickens me to think PFR’s on this stinking list can’t find it in them self’s to stand up against the list as a whole let alone the clearly unjust means of punishment ,I don’t see any openings being made for people to get help without ratting on them self or any real help available before a crime , you and this registry are making it 100 times more dangerous for the PFR as well everyone else , Its Weak to piss on a person mentally ill , @Concerned , your a lemming maroon with your tough on crime crap , the US has the largest prison population in the world , and you want more ,
