BOSSIER PARISH, La. (WKRC) – A Bossier City man was sentenced to 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to a sex offense involving a child family member, according to the Bossier Parish District Court.
Zachary ______, 40, entered a guilty plea April 6 to aggravated crimes against nature, according to the district attorney’s office. His sentence includes mandatory castration under Louisiana law, reports Bossier Press-Tribune.

“My office is committed to prosecuting the predators that victimize children and will work hand-in-hand with our partners in law enforcement to protect children,” Marvin said.
…

Again, castration has not been outlawed. If the defendant wants to fight this, then they need to do some research on it because it can be fought and won.
This was a law passed just so its author(s) can flex for the cameras and talk about how tough on crime they are. They know damn well it’ll never survive on appeal.
Besides, if it stood, ask these same idiots, why register those affected? If castrated, shouldn’t it follow that they are no longer the type of threat that the registry supposedly protects the public from?
