In world of online porn, more than 25% of sex offenders found by Garda are teenagers.
What’s the best way to deal with sex offenders? Most people would probably answer they should be locked up, ideally for a long time. But what if the offender in question is a 17-year-old? Or as young as 12?
This is where Joan Cherry comes in. She is one of a small number of social workers who have worked with young sexual offenders – or as she prefers to refer to them, “young people in conflict with the law”.
Sexual offending by young people is a serious problem in Ireland and one which, according to Cherry, is getting worse. More than a quarter of all sexual offenders detected by the Garda are teenagers, some as young as 13. In 2015, one in five people arrested for rape was under 18. Full Article
I’m very scared for young people in today’s world. Not only do parents, teachers, and other role models not talk to the youth about what is right and wrong sexually, but even if they do, peer pressure and media influence the kids in the opposite direction. I wasn’t around much of my son’s life due to the crime I committed drove my wife (and child) away. When I did get back legal approval to be around my son, I had many chats with him about what I did and why and how to NOT follow in my footsteps. I also explained to him that when he became a legal adult, he must take much care in whom he has a relationship to avoid being caught up in this whirlwind of hypocrisy.

that deal with educating children about sex.
I have often wondered about whether role models play an active, very active, part in educating the youth and if not, why not?
We beautify girls and ignore boys we shun erections and boast and flaunt periods we support womanhood and give girls a place to connect with children and they carry babies, so they bond with another human and we are in a spoiled world giving education and emotional support as well as legal security to females while we penalize boys, men and expect men to fall under woman’s rule and he pays child support or go to jail, but does he say I want or don’t want my baby aborted ……No it’s her baby until she wants it, then it’s his child support! Any of this making sense ! I will continue later ok!
