FL: Court: Miami jail can’t be forced to give inmates soap, tests during coronavirus outbreak

[miamiherald.com – 5/5/20]

A federal appeals court has blocked, for now, a judge’s order forcing Miami-Dade County to give masks, soap and cleaning supplies to inmates at a jail wracked by the novel coronavirus.

The U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday said that Miami District Court Judge Kathleen Williams overstepped the law when she ruled that inmates at the Metro West Detention Center must get the supplies — and also be tested for COVID-19, as well as people who have been in contact with them.

“To avoid contempt, then, [the jails] must allocate limited testing resources to Metro West at the expense of other county facilities,” the appellate judges ruled.

“All the while, the district court has tasked itself with overseeing the steps the defendants are taking to ‘ensure additional social distancing safeguards,’ even though it acknowledges that social distancing is ‘impossible’ at the current inmate population level. In short, the district court assumed the role of ‘super-warden.’ ”

Dies not surprise me after all the years BOP and Officials have been allowed and hell steal millions from the public operating scum jail filling pockets and abusing prisoners as well as all the Corruption of Victims Comp funds to all the BS Parole, Probation and all other sham programs that supposedly make everyone better off !
Restitution as an EXAMPLE in the form of labor for thiefs is RIGHTEOUS and Correct but years and years or lifetime BS is UNJUST AND ABUSIVE also PROGRAMS, TREATMENT, FINES, FEES, ASSESMENTS AND ON AND ON IS ABUSE !
GPS USED ON EX PRISONERS LIKE USED ON DOGS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL !
When its ok RATIONALLY its time the U.S. is Dismantled because it mimics or mirrors or comes way to close to SHARIA LAW OD OLD TESTAMENT WAYS OR COMMUNISM !
The Legal system are CRIMINALS if they INFLICT MORE CRIMES, MORE DAMAGE MORE UNJUST MEASURES AND MORE SUFFERING THAN THE ACTUAL DEFENDANTS OFFENSES ….
Who will start addressing and Changing the EXCESSIVE, Abusive METHODS AND POLICIES OF LIFE DEBILITATING ACTS ON THE EX OFFENDERS !
Example, if the DOJ and BOP and all involved destroy or make much worse health of an individuals life, NOW the results are DISABILTY PAYED BY TAX PAYERS, LOSS OF LIFE AND HEALTH NO/LOW QUALITY OF LIFE ! Family & Societal burdens Legal fees, Courts backlogged or stimied with BS and on and on and on !
But guess who does/did/will do the MAJORITY OF DAMAGE IN ALL FACETS AND SECTORS AREAS OF THESE MENS LIVES AND THE WORLD WE LIVE IN !
THATS RIGHT THE GOV OFFICIALS NOT THE SO CALLED CRIMINALS !
Rest My Case …

So if things got too tight financially and some wise and experienced prison official sees that they could save money by not feeding prisoners, who is this idiot judge to second guess.

Embarrass them by getting the Red Cross to pick up the slack or at least request them to much like POW camp internees were given Red Cross boxes. That’ll draw attention.
