CALIFORNIA — The Golden State could give 76,000 inmates — including violent and repeat felons — an opportunity to exit prison early if they exhibited “good conduct.” The state hoped to further trim its prison population in what was once the nation’s largest state correctional system.
That decision has drawn ire from 44 district attorneys across the state. They filed a civil lawsuit last week against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to stop the correction system from awarding “good conduct” credits to the 76,000 state prison inmates.
Patch asked readers to share their thoughts on this in a survey. The survey — which drew more than 7,043 responses — was not a scientific poll and was meant to offer only a broad idea of public sentiment.

Politicians have done a through job of demonizing the incarcerated. And how much more are registrants and those committing sex offenses made lepers and outcasts.
Anything for a vote!
We must fight these attitudes together! Show up, stand up, and speak up with us!
29 days till SB384 California tier law goes into effect and the California District Attorney’s office ain’t letting no sex offender go free without a fight especially Riverside County and Orange County they never let up they have the time and money to go over every single petition that hits their desks and they will.
The 44 district attorney’s that filed suit against the CDCR don’t care about violent criminals getting out early their only worried about sex offenders getting out early they just can’t say that because of the equal protection laws.
So they’ll keep saying violent predators but we know who their talking about.
Good luck 😈
Outcasting and dehumanizing people isn’t freedom, it’s oppression all to fill up the prison industrial complex. Freedom is not holding 25% of the world’s incarcerated, it’s leaving people alone through rehabilitation and other programs.
Hmm my family member, who is currently a CA incarcerated, just phoned and told me that some inmates are getting released however they are released with a 20 year parole in place.
Aero, contact me. I have a suggestion. I concur with your OC comment
