DENVER (CBS4) — A bill to revamp how people listed on the registry are managed in Colorado was pulled after prosecutors accused the bill’s sponsors of putting public safety at risk.
The bill addresses everything from the conditions for release from prison to the sex offense registry. The Colorado District Attorneys’ Council says 70% of people convicted of sex offenses in Colorado don’t even go to prison. Of those who do, it says, the vast majority of them are convicted of sexually assaulting children.
Initially, the bill would have allowed them to be released without treatment, but it was amended after prosecutors sounded the alarm.
“To fundamentally talk about changing how we manage, monitor, identify evaluate, and treat people in the community should not be done without public transparency,” Jefferson County Assistant District Attorney Amanda Gall told the House Judiciary Committee.
She accused the bill sponsors of recklessly endangering public safety, “The implications for community safety issues is huge.”
Implied quote by Gall: “It took us 20 years to think up this shaky, convoluted travesty of justice that we call a registry. Don’t touch it or the whole pile of fecal matter will collapse and my career will be over!”
Assistant District Attorney Amanda Gall needs to be reminded that an”Implication,” especially in this instance is nothing more than her guess….and divorced from an actual fact basis.
If she had a supporting factual basis she would not be forced to use an…Implication.
Truth be known, Assistant District Attorney Amanda Gall should be confronted about her need to admit that she has no facts supporting her position…hence her cowardly retreat to “implication.”

Let’s make no mistake – harassing terrorists like Jefferson County Assistant District Attorney Amanda Gall are the real danger to Americans. Those “people” are more concerned with keeping their prison business and $$$$$ going than anything else.
Maybe the fact that 70% don’t go to prison is an indication of what should constitute a “sex offense.” So those accused of molesting children go to prison. So who is not going to prison? Someone accused of taking a piss in the bushes? A teen who took a self?
“70% of people convicted of sex offenses don’t even go to prison” Yeah, that’s usually the case with misdemeanors. What percent of politicians, DA’s and judges go to prison when they commit malfeasance? In fact, do any even lose their jobs?
These big shot District Attorney’s all across America like Amanda Gall that continues to support punishment on people for sex crimes they committed 20-30 years ago forgets the fact that their apart of society too.
Someone could easily get ahold of a district attorney’s personal information about them and their families and post it all over the internet for every sex offender in their state to see.
These District Attorney’s and politicians who support the registry truly believe they’re intangible and can say whatever they want whenever they want regardless of the facts and regardless of the people they hurt along the way
I was thinking about moving to Denver Colorado my mom bought house out there 2 years ago but after going over their sex offender Laws there basically the same as California’s so it would be pointless to even move
