NC: What is Dads Against Predators? What to know about group tied to alleged attack at NC Target

Source: charlotteobserver.com 7/6/22

An incident that police say led to a gun being fired in a North Carolina Target store has raised questions about the group “Dads Against Predators,” its history and its presence in the state. Three men with ties to the organization lured a 25-year-old man to a Winston-Salem Target in late June and attacked him, according to police, leading the man to fire a gun in the store. It’s not the first time the group, also known as “D.A.P.,” has had run-ins with the law.

Now we have people hunting us down with guns , just being on the registry makes you a target ,and they say this is not punishment that’s crap

Just more government-incited violence… They can’t say they didn’t know the registry would cause this because they actually wrote provision for it into the law!

These are inbred losers with nothing better to do with their time. If they were good dads, they be engaged with their kids. Instead, these uneducated, unemployed rocket surgeons came up with a brilliant plan for pedo hunting as their angle to catapult them to social media stardom with all it’s trappings of money and fame.
There’s nothing altruistic about them. Zero.
Their FB group is open. Let them know how you feel.

Thee guys have too much time on their hands.

A couple of thoughts in regards to article.
They say they pose as kids. Well with those actions, they are closer to juveniles than adults.
They wanted to do something bigger than themselves. Again, not hard to imagine ANYTHING not being bigger mentally than these guys.
The Mandy fellow says he is thinking of “retiring from the field”. Translation, “ I didn’t think these guys would actually fight back. I’m really a big wimp”.

I guess I’ll be the dissenting opinion on this one. The men that were caught were actively committing crime. While this doesn’t justify violence; it is what happens when you commit crime. Not just a crime but a felony. I don’t have sympathy for active predators. They expose themselves to this sort of reaction. But it’s just bad for everyone involved, especially the ones posing as minors to set up a meeting. I say groups like this should leave the work to law enforcement. @Dray— I do agree with you completely that the registry exposes those on it to danger from fringe groups such as these. Noone should have such personal data made available to the public.

Edit: I also say that if there was no minor involved…was there actually a crime committed?

Admittedly this is an assumption…however…..the “target” that was in possession of the firearm was certainly not on the sex offender registry, nor had a previous felony conviction (sex offense or otherwise). Otherwise, it would have been reported that the “target” was arrested for being a “felon in possession of a firearm” AND that he was a danger to all minors as he was on the registry, which he evidently was not. Certainly, if he was, law enforcement and all other persecutors would be blathering about his past history. But lo…that was not in the report.

“It’s frustrating to see, you know, our efforts overshadowed by people who have no training, have no experience, are not even law enforcement officers, who believe that they’re protecting children,” Dave Frattare, the commander of Cuyahoga County, Ohio’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force told Cleveland’s WOIO.

Fine, Mr. Frattare. Then tell your fellow law enforcement agencies and prosecutors across the country to refrain from charging people who were set up by non-LE approved civilian sting harassment thugs. (/s)
