MOOSE LAKE, MN. (Northern News Now) – Recent violent assaults on staff inside the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in Moose Lake in the past year is sparking another look into the controversial treatment program.
Northern News Now Anchor Laura Lee investigates the claims made by some clients inside MSOP who say they are being given life sentences for crimes they have already served. The desperation of some of the clients is reaching a boiling point as some say they are so desperate to get out, they are willing to commit murder.
In a 3-part series, Lee goes inside the high-security facility and talks to clients who say they are losing hope. She also travels to the state capitol to question the Department of Human Services in charge of the program and review the statutes of the current law. Lee also sits down with legal experts who argue that the $112 million used to fund the program can better serve the community in other ways and she challenges why Minnesota is an outlier when it comes to civil commitment in the country.
Ummmmm, how stupid you gotta be to not see this coming? These people have absolutely nothing left to loose, so… anything is possible.
The State is just sacrificing the staff at this facility to gain political gold? Leave the staff constantly surrounded by life without the possibility inmates in their pretend hospital, and hope something useful happens? Now they can use the pile of corpses as a great excuse to stop pretending it’s not just more prison?
So speaketh the MAGA Goon:
“Now they’re not just Sex Witches, they’re murderous sex witches! Clearly we need to get tough! No more of these bleeding heart treatment programs, just straight to the black hole of Calcutta for all of them!”
For the children… especially the dead kids that were k***d by the sex witch trying to avoid being sent to the black hole of Calcutta. That’s right Sex Witches, … … … …
… … we’ll assume that the only reason you didn’t is that you were afraid of the death penalty.. which is going to happen anyway! We’ll also assume you and the millions of others just like you have k***d dozens of kids each, and ummmm… we just didn’t notice them missing….until now! ”
Welcome to America, where absolutely everybody is a disposable commodity.
Let’s not mince words here. These are prisoners in a prison from which they know they will never be free. They have absolutely nothing to gain by “behaving themselves”, even when they say whatever it is they believe their detainers want to hear.
The world has already rejected them, the public doesn’t even consider them to be human, and their personal identity, along with their hopes and dreams, have all been eroded away by their so called “therapy”, in which they are antagonized and coerced into percieving themselves as the monsters and devils they’ve been branded.
I don’t feel any sympathy whatsoever for the staff employed at these dehumanizing “shadow prisons”, but only for the prisoners, who are forced to spend the rest of their lives under the bootheel of the contentious sociopaths who run these horrible places.
There’s nothing controversial about it – it’s a prison, period. They were sent there by a court, they can’t leave when they want, they can’t have visitors at will, their day is severely regimented by staff, and they won’t get out until a court says so (historically, never). Odds are they’d be crazier if released than they ever were when they were put there.
I don’t know if Betty White’s character on The Golden Girls is an accurate depiction of the intelligence of the average Minnesotan citizen. But it certainly does appear that it’s an accurate depiction of the average Minnesotan legislator.
If a “resident” has been there for years without any hope of getting out, they’re thinking they might as well off a staff person. That will get them quickly released, tried and sent to a state prison for life (no death penalty in Minnesota) where there’s more social life and activities. At least they won’t be doped up on drugs along with shrinks constantly picking their brains.
Hotel California has come to Minnesota and as someone born in the state this crap makes my blood boil. No person should be forced to live in a ” treatment center” aka prison for something they already served time for and not think anger/frustration will not reach a tipping point. Minnesota legislators should take the polar plunge in Lake Superior this winter and freeze this inhumane practice once and for all.
