Anyone successfully snuck into Florida for a few days past the registration requirement? I live out of state and my mother, who lived in FL, just passed away and I need to go down there right away, but I cannot possibly handle funeral and estate responsibilities within a 48 hour window, which appears to be all the time I’m allowed to visit there without having to register. I won’t even have a car so I would have no means of going to some sheriff station somewhere.
Thank you for the heads up. Unfortunately I have to fly, so there’s your paper trail 🙁 I wonder if the airlines share domestic flight manifests with the authorities??.
My work is sending me for a required training in Oklahoma that is two weeks long. How much of a risk am I taking by laying low and not saying anything?
My work is sending me for training in Oklahoma for two weeks. Has anyone ever traveled there without notifying the authorities? Will they somehow find out?

Planning to travel to New York and May be New jersey
Want to know how long I can stay without registration.
I am a PFR from MN
Hey all,
How do state holidays affect a duty to register if they’d be in the middle of my trip? Tuesday March 31 is a state holiday in CA. If I were to arrive that Monday (or even that weekend before), could I safely stay though Sunday? The working days would be Monday and Wenesday-Friday. Appreciate any help, thanks.
I would think CA would be straightforward, but everything I see states “within 5 days” when traveling to CA. Does that mean all travelers to CA must register?
I will be flying from Illinois to New York in August, and want to know your experience with getting the Real ID and any issues you had getting one. My biggest question, in Illinois, I have to renew my license yearly which I just did in December. It looks like I can get the Real ID as a state ID which would negate throwing my license renewal out of wack.
@Atwo Zee or any others Pls help
Planning on traveling to NY (currently on probation in MN) got permission from PO officer to travel
I am planning to fly to NY JFK and stay in new york may be 2 nights then go to PA via car travel from NY(King of Prussia, PA) stay there of 2 or 3 nights anf fly back from PHL to Minneapolis.
Hope above stays are okay ..Anything I need to keep in mind or concerned about. Please let me know
My question is on notifying the home state of domestic travel. IL has a “within 3 day” rule for triggering registration requirements; do you interpret that to mean you can travel out of state for two days without notifying IL? Or should all travel be reported in home state, it’s just a matter of trying not to trigger visiting state reporting?
I want to go to Michigan for a short 5 day vacation. I was under the impression that I did not have to register unless I was there 7 or more days. However, after I looked at the law, the 7 day rule is only for Michigan residents that are away from their primary homes for more then 7 days. It just says that if you start a residence in Michigan even a temporary one you must register within 3 business days. Can anyone clarify?
Hi all, I am NYS person forced to register (PFR), not on probation any more, live in Westchester, traveling to upstate NYS for an 11-day event this summer. I could have stayed on a university campus for this workshop but I understand the real possibility of a background check so I will not do that. Also, it’s not convenient for my wife to secure an Airbnb (she has the membership, not me), as I have never tried to become a member of Airbnb, because I think I’ve read here that Airbnb will do a background check on me and deny me membership (is that a hard/fast truth?), which I also would assume would be true for VRBO. That said, I have a couple of questions about Expedia offering VRBO rentals:
I went to Expedia and found an entire VRBO home near the venue, but it’s being offered through Expedia. I can pay using Expedia. Has anyone done this successfully? Does Expedia have any kind of background check process for when they offer VRBO rentals? Last question, because we’ve been staying mostly in Airbnbs the last few years since I’ve been off probation, we have not checked into many hotels or motels. Has anyone who is a PFR had problems with simply securing lodging and staying at a brand motel or hotel as a PFR?
Thanks!
DR in Yonkers.
