I watched the video from the Katie Couric show and I am very disappointed that so much was left out. They never discussed the ambition that drives investigators and prosecutors to convict by any means, fair or foul! One legal analyst mentioned that there is no way for the defense to legally question the children in cases like this, making it extremely difficult to get to the truth. It was also touched on the fact that until the inmate is willing to admit his guilt (even though not guilty) there is no chance for parole. I’m glad these unfair facts were mentioned but I noticed that there was no discussion of any punishment for the investigator who made false statements and badgered the children to make false statements.
Finally, I take extreme exception the son stating that usually men who are in prison “come out monsters.” Another statement of myth…. So.. while I am glad that this man is finally exonerated, I would have hoped that more would be done to keep this from happening to someone else.

Yes, Margaret, but at least Katie exposed this kind of abuse on her show to thousands. I am thankful. Did you go to the bottom of the page and see that she interviewed not one, but at least three? The last guy who was in prison for being falsely accused of murder did a great job at discussing how corrupt our system is.
