NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — The nude, bloodied body of a South Bay apartment manager — reportedly a registered sex offender — was found early Tuesday on the doorstep of his residence, where he’d been stabbed to death by an unidentified assailant. It appears that Enrique Atilano, a registrant, was murdered in his home because he is a registrant. He joins more than 350 individuals who were similarly murdered because they were registrants. That list includes Bobby Ray Rainwater who was murdered in San Juan Capistrano in 2011 and Michael Dodele who was murdered in Lake County in 2008.
