Orange County DA (Tony Rackauckus), where does he get his info?

“Anybody who has worked in the system for a while knows that sexual crimes are the ones that are repeated the most – we’ve had case after case of recidivist sex offenders…”

If those facts are true there wouldn’t be any sex offenders free from prison.. let me check.. yup those are home addresses on the list, not jails or prisons

Just watched the video and cannot believe that this is Orange County’s top prosecutor! I consider myself somewhat versed in the subject but I could barely follow his train of thought, and I use that term loosely. That appearance was entirely lacking in organization, substance and presentation. Epic Fail.

How can he say these things on the record and not know the facts / research? Not be able to dispute them, but admit that he has not seen them / is not aware? Quote “I do not know what the numbers are”. How many of these speeches had they given at this point? I am still quite unclear on what a parolee inheriting a property adjacent to a park has to do with prohibiting someone with a decade-old conviction having a picnic there.

How coherent and organized was the speech by the registrant’s daughter! A+

I now have watched several of these City Council presentations and I have yet to hear of one (1) actual crime being committed (resulting in an arrest at a minimum) by a registrant in a public park – that might be justification for these ordinances, however lame and unjust that might be. Not one.

Am I in the wrong movie???

I’m honestly speechless. When I was a young man, I really never questioned authority and always had a great deal of respect for authorities. I always and truly believed that people in such positions had both ethical and moral responsibility to uphold the law and always seek and tell the truth. This is no longer valid. I personally feel there are some serious credibility issues here and its truly very sad.
