From Hinch’s wiki entry “Sexual relationship with underage girl
In his 2004 book, The Fall and Rise of Derryn Hinch, and in a radio editorial in March 2005, Hinch admitted to having sex with a 15-year-old female when he was in his early thirties, although he states he “thought she was about 25″. Following his on-air admission, Herald Sun journalist Andrew Bolt called for his prosecution. In 2013 Hinch wrote that after 30 years the woman had contacted him and said he was wrong about her age. She said she was born in 1961 and they met shortly after he joined 3AW in 1979. That made her 17 at the time of the liaison.”
Hinch went to jail for disobeying a judges order not to release names of ‘sex offenders’. The ones Hinch seems to go after are the ones associated with Catholic Church type abuse. Hinch saw nothing wrong with sex with underaged teen girls and proudly admits his participation. It’s likely Hinchs point of view is that his crimes, although aganist the law, pale in comparison to the type of crimes that went down in the Catholic Church. Like John Walsh, who also admitted to sex crimes, Hinchs proposal’s encompass those guilty of the crimes he admitted to.

“Americans have had this system for twenty years,” he told News Corp.
“You punch in the location (on the app) and up pop 15 flags of convicted sex offenders living within 2km of where you are standing.
“The app gives you their name, their photograph, their home address, their criminal history and their sentence. Our model should look the same.”
Yeah great. Let’s just be like the Americans and stoke fear, anger, and false sense of security people have in that country.
