TX: Legislator aims to block sex offenders from getting pen pals

It’s a common refrain online: An inmate posts a want ad seeking a pen pal while describing themselves in the most flattering terms someone behind bars can come up with. The inmates often described the loneliness of being incarcerated. But, few, if any, ever disclose why they are behind bars on sites like WriteAPrisoner.com or Prisoninmatepenpal.com. Someone choosing to correspond with them could end up writing to a person convicted of most any crime.

But, that may be a bit more limited under House Bill 821 as lawmakers return to Austin on Tuesday to begin the next legislative session. The measure, sponsored by state Rep. Matt Shaheen, R-Plano, would require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to impose rules barring anyone required to register as a sex offender from advertising for a pen pal. Full Article

From Shaheen website: “Representative Shaheen has been married for 21 years and has three children. His family attends Prestonwood Baptist Church where Matt serves as an Usher, Deacon and on the church’s pregnancy center board. The Representative also leads a bible study for inmates in the county jail” Is another religious anti-Christ.

P.S. I emailed this to Dr. Jack Graham, pastor@prestonwood.org. From Shaheen website: “Representative Shaheen has been married for 21 years and has three children. His family attends Prestonwood Baptist Church where Matt serves as an Usher, Deacon and on the church’s pregnancy center board. The Representative also leads a bible study for inmates in the county jail” Is another religious anti-Christ, wanting to take away the Penpal privileges from imprisoned sex offenders. This Church is apparently another religious anti-Christ church, not doing what it is preached. Mr. Shaheen is shameful to the cause and the name of Christ. <

I admire your valor in contacting Dr. Graham regarding the Wicked Servant under his Authority. I would add the following examples of the Hebrew fellow they purport to follow as deity, that being Jesus of the 2nd. Temple Period:

The State of Texas and the Peoples representative Shaheen have been trespassing on a path most wicked which has created evil, that is to say “Want”. They have no compassion for those who repent of their errors but instead seek to destroy those who seek redemption for themselves and the innocent family member who suffer Unjustly with them.

How many times was The Most High Father in Heaven moved to forgive them their errors because He had compassion and took pity on them? But these wicked servants of Texas refuse to forgive their fellow countrymen.

The Two Debtors (also known as) The Wicked Servant

        Matthew Chapter 18

21¶ Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

As Yehovah lives, so should we, I speak Truth

So, let’s take those that may have committed a sex crime that involved forcing themselves on someone that they weren’t in a relationship with and prevent them from creating real relationships.

Sure…that’s going to help society. Well thought out. Ummm….no

  3. Stephen

I wonder if sex offenders are allowed to attend his bible study class.

    • David Kennerly's Rational Basis

I think that all of us should email the church and tell them that we will be attending the church beginning next Sunday. Emphasize that we need saving and, from what their Congressman/Deacon has said, his church offers us hope for redemption although probably not pen pals. Offer to sing in the choir. Hey, why not? If we were to actually show up it would make a great Michael Moore moment.

Offer to teach a Sunday School class.

We’ll bring free candy and a series of lectures on Sodom and Gomorrah.

          Show up dressed like Adam.

        • David Kennerly's Second Great Awakening

Or something a bit more modest, perhaps such as a raincoat.

I encourage EVERYONE to write that church, I am!
