FL: Pasco to open shelter for sex offenders

Registered sex offenders who need to evacuate because of Hurricane Irma now have an option: The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office will set up a space for them in the shelter at Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel”

They need someplace to go just like any other citizen,” sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Doll said. Full Article

If they are like any other citizen, why would they need to go to a different shelter? Clearly they are not like any other citizen. As they are not like any other citizen, what kind of citizen are they?

  2. Dray

Still not fair, if there was no more registration nobody would know who each other was that’s the way it should be this is America, or was America . If they found some sex offender having an inappropriate relationship with a minor they can just arrest them just like they should arrest a drug dealer trying to give drugs to a minor or a parent beating their child etc. etc. ., I think some parents should do a better job of educating their children about all dangers and keeping a better eye on them I keep a close eye on my pets.

    • Registry Rage

Exactly everyone on this forum knows this! What these people (worrywart parents with kids) don’t know, won’t hurt them!

But no.. there is MONEY to be made from exploiting people’s fears and insecurities for political gain.

It’s as though sex offenders have cooties on steroids or something!

  3. New Person

So Polk banishes registrants from shelter.

Pasco makes “separate, but equal” execution at their shelter.

Florida should be able to utilize this extreme on a facial level, considering how this is akin to Jim Crow laws.

  4. Paul

I see “separate but equal” is back in mainstream

    • AJ

I think a “separate but equal” argument could be persuasively used. It gets to the core of what goes on…even though “equal” isn’t always there.

  5. Lake County

Sorry, there has been a mistake as sex offenders are not allowed on school property. You will need to put your hands behind your back as you are now under arrest….. I would expect that to happen in Floridah.
