Part of Root & Rebound’s mission is to conduct free legal clinics in California for those in the process of reentry to society.

Sonoma Indian Health Center Record Clearing Clinic – for people in reentry
Santa Rosa, CA

  • DATE/TIME: Monday, April 2nd, 10am – 4pm
  • LOCATION: 144 Stony Point Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95401
  • WHAT: R&R attorneys will be hosting one-on-one free legal consultations about reentry issues in Sonoma. There will be free LiveScans for qualifying attendees!
  • HOW TO RSVP: Call R&R at 510-279-4662 to reserve your spot. Walk-ins are also welcome!

 

Fresno Second Chances Legal Clinic – for people in reentry

  • DATE/TIME: Saturday, April 14th, 9am – 5pm
  • LOCATION: Wesley United Methodist Church, 1343 E. Barstow Ave, Fresno, CA 93710
  • WHAT: R&R Fresno Community Event in partnership with Fresno Public Defenders’ Office: Morning speakers and all day clinic where our attorneys will be offering free record-cleaning services and legal support on navigating barriers related to employment, housing, family, immigration, parole and probation, etc.
  • HOW TO RSVP: Call R&R at 510-279-4662 to reserve your spot. Walk-ins are also welcome!

 

Contra Costa Traffic/Reentry Legal Clinic – for people in reentry

  • DATE/TIME: Saturday, April 28th, 10am – 4pm
  • LOCATION:  Reentry Success Center, 912 Macdonald Ave, Richmond, CA 94801 
  • WHAT: Root & Rebound and Bay Area Legal Aid are hosting a Traffic/Reentry Legal Clinic to provide information and help on driver’s license suspensions, clearing up “Failure To Pays” and civil assessments from traffic court, and parole or probation conditions. We will also answer general questions about how a criminal record affects a person’s rights related to court-ordered debt, parole or probation, family, employment, housing, voting and ID.

Thank you for the information! I’ve sent the link to our local rehab group as I’m sure it will be of great interest to many there.

This is good, but in truth, we know the only real reentry into society is the abolition of the registry.
