The Orange Beach Police Department has identified a homicide victim as a registered sex offender.
Police said 53-year-old Raymond Curtis Dudley has been identified as the body found Thursday near Cypress Street and Wolf Bay.
Investigators say Dudley is originally from Massachusetts and a registered sex offender.
Police are asking anyone who may have been in contact with Dudley on March 21 to contact them at (251) 981-9777.
I don’t understand why the victim is labeled a sex offender? What purpose does it bring? Now, if he was being targeted as a sex offender, then bring that up afterwards.
A murdered person doesn’t bring as many clicks as a murdered sex offender?
This identification as a sex offender, in this case, helps us because it shows that even the media is seeing a correlation between being on the SO list and being a murder victim. This man died as a sacrifice. There is a pattern now, and attorneys will be able to use that in the battle to ban the public lists, probably overturning portions of Megan’s Law, Jessica’s Law, SORNA, etc. Sooner or later the courts will see that being on the lists puts SOs at greater risk of murder and discrimination, and violates our Constitution.
