I don’t understand why the victim is labeled a sex offender? What purpose does it bring? Now, if he was being targeted as a sex offender, then bring that up afterwards.

A murdered person doesn’t bring as many clicks as a murdered sex offender?

When that Amtrack train crashed the bastard media did the same thing, the guy next to him was probably a convicted killer or bank robber, but they love putting us on display, maybe we should start doing thing to deter the media, make a sign that says, I KNOW A SEX OFFENDER!!!!! Or YES IM A SEX OFFENDER GET OVER IT, WONT BE THE FIRST, WONT BE THE LAST, LOVE THE ATTENTION!!!!!! Just an idea that’s all the media is trying to do is step on SO’s and put us out there like the garbage.

This labeling has been done many times in news outlets and media. Every time a s*x offender die, hurt, win lottery, become a hero, or make it on the news for any reasons, he or she will never be labeled by his or her real name anymore. We will be called sx offender on the media and / or news outlets! Sad but true! We will all die broast cast as sx offender for the world to see and know.

This identification as a sex offender, in this case, helps us because it shows that even the media is seeing a correlation between being on the SO list and being a murder victim. This man died as a sacrifice. There is a pattern now, and attorneys will be able to use that in the battle to ban the public lists, probably overturning portions of Megan’s Law, Jessica’s Law, SORNA, etc. Sooner or later the courts will see that being on the lists puts SOs at greater risk of murder and discrimination, and violates our Constitution.

In too many cases, the government fails to identify the victim of vigilante violence as a registrant. The government’s failure to do so makes it difficult if not impossible to keep track of how many vigilantes have attacked, harmed and/or killed a registrant. We need this information in order to educate the public, including elected officials, regarding the real dangers posed by the Megan’s Law websites in every state in the nation. We also need to educate them regarding the fact that these dangers exist at the same time that the Megan’s Law websites fail to increase public safety. It… Read more »

Agreed, Janice. Also i want to point out that if victims were not identified and names published along with the tag “sex offender”, we would never hear about it. We wouldn’t be able to compile the information.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
