MONTGOMERY COUNTY, OHIO —
The man whose body was found wrapped in plastic Monday afternoon by a Browns Nursery worker was identified as a 47-year-old Clay Twp. man.
Steven T. Johnson died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, but it’s too early to know how long he’d been dead, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Johnson reportedly was identified through fingerprints.
Johnson’s body was discovered off Arlington Road on nursery property, Sgt. M.D. Hutchison of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
…and in the infamous words of Chief Justice Roberts, “Being on the registry is really no different then getting a Price Club card.”
Of course you know law enforcement will vociferously deny any link between a murdered sex offender and the public registry because they don’t want a pesky little thing like the 8th Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment to get in the way. They won’t admit status as a registered sex offender contributed to a registered citizen’s murder unless the murderer comes right out and says they were using the registry as a hit list. They know if the truth was known the courts would have no choice but to overturn these wildly popular laws.
The sad truth is that no one thinks any amount of punishment is too much for a registered citizen, especially if the registered citizen molested or raped a prepubescent child or young teenager. The truth is that law enforcement could probably care less. I’d bet they’d let those who murder registered sex offenders get away with it if they could possibly find any way to do so.
I don’t think the true scum bags that support the Registries would care much if thousands of Registered people were murdered. They haven’t cared much when spouses have been murdered. Haven’t cared when children have been murdered. People just ignore it and keep lying about how the Registries are “protecting” people.
It seems to me that it would take a true murder spree to get any courts to order the Registries to go offline. The Registries are hit lists after all. Part of their intent, of course.
Intriguing. There is no way this man would have been killed unless he was on the registry! Placing someone’s photo/name and full address online is nuts! How many more people need to be killed. We now live in a different world. Things truly need to change. Yet, we have prostitutes, drunk drivers, drug dealers/users, gang bangers and even murderers who are free to roam the streets and aren’t posted online for all to see? Wake up. It’s getting crazy
The Dayton Daily News (DDN) has been no friend to the registrant and associated stories to them. This township is in their backyard, just west of the Dayton Airport.
Here is what the DDN is posting as a follow up to the original article (which is the same one as the Palm Beach Post here): ‘Persons of interest’ sought after registered sex offender found dead, wrapped in plastic https://www.mydaytondailynews.com/news/local/persons-interest-sought-after-registered-sex-offender-found-dead-wrapped-plastic/92e2PDpkHoerLj7ElU1SpJ/
“His death was a very very violent death,” said Sheriff Phil Plummer. “He frequented the east side of Dayton and he definitely had a drug problem.”
Sheriff’s deputies do not believe Johnson’s status as a registered sex offender had anything to do with his death.
“I’m sure its more related to the drug problem,” Plummer said.
Guess only time will tell on this story.
Apparently, the alleged perpetrator has been arrested: https://www.wisn.com/article/suspect-in-brutal-ohio-murder-of-sex-offender-arrested-in-oak-creek/23879383
Hmmm, maybe he wasn’t murdered solely because he is an RSO.
