Action Alert: CA Senate Bill 145 Hearing ON HOLD

Please take action quickly even if you are not directly affected by this. We want to show our support for Senator Scott Weiner, author of the Tiered Registry Law and SB 145.

Senate Bill 145, which would create equality for the purpose of registration between heterosexual and homosexual couples, is scheduled to be considered by the Senate Appropriations Hearing on Monday, May 6.

The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. in Room 4203 of the State Capitol.

“With the help of ACSOL and its members, Senate Bill 145 was approved by the Senate Public Safety Committee,” stated ACSOL Executive Director Janice Bellucci. “Help from ACSOL and its members is now necessary to obtain approval of the bill from the Senate Appropriations Committee.”

Please send letters of support to Committee Chairman Senator Anthony Portantino at State Capitol, Room 2206, Sacramento, CA 95814. A sample letter sent by ACSOL is available below. Letters can be sent by U.S. mail, but cannot be sent by FAX. There is a portal to send letters online at
