Gov. Bill Lee had signed the bill into law to make convicted sex offenders subject to arrest if they were alone with, spent the night with, or lived with their children under age 12. But three convicted sex offenders immediately filed suit and the law never took effect last year amid the challenge. Full Article

So I would have to pay for a lawyer, to get in the court room to live with my kids? and sure have to pay court cost as well. I have three kids which are over 12 and now one that’s 16 months. My case is from 93. Tired of new laws and hoops every year.

Phil…I think in the long run that this is good because even an ultra conservative state is recognizing they went to far, and once again a federal judge rules it is unconstitutional. This is becoming a pattern across the country. one case by on case we are winning and those wanting to oppress and disenfranchise are losing.

Ya I get it. When I got divorced I got custody of my 3 daughters that I raised. Because I guess was not a threat. I did get remarried and somewhere down the line they changed it to where my step daughter could not stay over night at the house when she visits her mom two weeks out of the month. Which we went to court about. Judge said he did not see me as a threat but his hands or tied, nothing he can do. So now I guess they dont want my 16 month old son to stay over night with me. Let me remind you this is a case that was before any of my kids and from 93. These laws have become so crazy I have no idea what to expect anymore. As I am afraid to travel with my kids anywhere. They suffer way more than me. All I get is no one understands why but nothing they can do.

Phil, Eric,
I hear ya both. Mine are 21, had them long after conviction. The fact is both parties cut a deal with respect to the database use by gov. Naturally each will use it to gain political security. Data collection in huge business. Gov & Private use is unconstitutional as intermingled (Ex Facebook TOS via email address exclusion) Gov cloud contracting is a pricey issue for the tax payer and we will pay up for it in many ways. Personally, I do not think there is a current greater threat to individual liberty & Sovereignty than the database, use and misuse, gov and private. Federal use in some ways completely eviscerated state’s sovereign duty to protect its citizens. Kids are being forced to Regis but who protects that kid from information misuse.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
