[ – 9/4/20]

A community on the northside of Cork city were targeted overnight by a vigilante leafleting campaign in which a man was accused of being a sex offender.

Only accused? Not arrested, indicted, or convicted?

Since registries are so effective, perhaps a vigilante registry should be created to prevent this sort of thing…

I think this quote from the article says it all:

Gardai removed the images from many parked cars this morning, and it is presently unknown if the photographed man is a resident of the area or known to gardai.

A long time ago I was looking into how registration works in other countries.

While this happened and Ireland does have a registry of sorts (nothing like what we know as registries), their laws are quite stringent AND ENFORCED around this type of vigilante behavior.

Did ya notice the article wasn’t about nor did it name the accused? The story wasn’t that an offender was in the neighborhood, but that vigilantes were active… Something that hearkens back to “the troubles”. Not welcome in any form.

The rso hysteria train rolls on, world wide. On a side note, anybody hear about any bank robberies anymore or is that just no-fun now?

To many are busy following and supporting QAnon. Sad state of affairs when citizens are now running for office on that belief; while the country is on fire and nobody in office gives a damn.
