FL: FBI Agent, Army Reserves Col. charged with sex crimes against children in Florida

Source: 8/27/21

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) — An FBI agent who investigated sex crimes against children has been arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes against children across several states, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Supervisory Special Agent David ____ was tasked with investigating crimes against children, including child pornography. But in February of this year, he was accused of exposing himself to a 14-year-old girl in a “lewd and lascivious manner,” while on vacation in St. George Island.

The investigation began in Franklin County but because of David ____ ’s role in the FBI, his status as a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, and the locations of the witnesses, victim(s), and suspect the Department of Justice and the Office of Inspector General joined the case.

He has not been convicted. It will be an interesting case to watch in Florida. Will he enter a plea or demand trial? 95% of the time it’s plea but he’s LE so maybe not. Chauven didn’t plea out and he was on multiple videos. In America anything is possible. After I read the linked article it was the next story from the site I link below. A far more disconcerting LE story.
video former hpd officer william darbys body camera footage released.

@Tim in WI, I get what your saying but Chauvin is a bad example. Chauvin actually wanted a plea deal and they basically had one he agreed to except to get him to do so the feds would have to agree not to file a separate federal charge afterward as this would make the state plea deal pointless. The feds would not agree so it went to trial. I think what you are getting at is that LE usually will go to trial and have a high chance of getting out of the charge or found not guilty. I don’t believe Chauvin took his chances at trial for that reason but instead because it was his best chance to avoid both a state and federal conviction on the same matter.

Point taken! Yes we’ve a problem with creative work around for avoiding double jeopardy conflicts. We’ve had a case not so long ago involving fed interference in state trials. Time permitting later I will post a link to a story here in WI, where the district bench judge publicity laments the fed interference in sentencing phase.

Geez that was hard to watch. There’s already cops in the house and this trigger happy rookie rolls up with a street Howitzer and blows the guys face off to prevent him from killing himself.
And his superiors were incredibly calm, like it was just another day at the office.
Boy do I have a lot of questions here like, was the shooter on a personal mission or did he misunderstand the kind of help suicidal folks need?

“Thank you for calling Suicide Hotline. How may I help you?”

“I’m feeling really depressed and I want to kill myself. Is there anyone who can help me?”

“Yes, of course. We’ll send Officer Derp over right away. Would you prefer double-aught buckshot or deer slug?”

Maybe cops should start investigating themselves first instead of creating crime. How to get away with crimes join the police academy? Brings a different meaning to protect and serve. Protect the unions and law enforcement while serving our bloated egos. Bad boys what are going to do when they come for you, either get arrested or killed.

I hope he gets convicted and is forced to register as a sex offender for rest of his hypocritical miserable, disgusting life.

Good luck

He is not likely to get a good view of the outdoors ever again, except perhaps while being transported between states for his various trials. Don’t worry, he will never have to register as a sex offender, for he will never get out of prison. Wonder if he will get a former arrestee as a roomie. He might not like that. There is no prison in the US where he will be safe is my guess.

You almost wonder if because he was exposed to pornography that he fell to the darkside. I also wonder how his investigations went, was he complacent or a success in his profession. The whole thing is odd and this guy had power and access to victims and medium. One will never know but he has probably shaken up the FBI with these allegations.

He has arrest warrants in multiple states. This does not look good for him. I know innocent until proven guilty, but if the FBI arrests someone with multiple arrest warrants that doesn’t look good.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
