We often bring up drunk driving as a comparable offense to sex crimes, and sometimes it’s apt. Apparently, the husband of Nancy Pelosi, recently arrested for a DUI crash, was responsible for his brother’s death years ago in a “joyriding” accident. It doesn’t seem like alcohol was a factor in the first accident, but it hasn’t kept him away from sports cars (his recent crash was in a Porsche). Nancy Pelosi is a very moderate Democrat who, as far as I know, has supported SORNA and similar Federal rulemaking. Should we forgive our leaders’ misdeeds when they don’t support forgiving ours?
