We often bring up drunk driving as a comparable offense to sex crimes, and sometimes it’s apt. Apparently, the husband of Nancy Pelosi, recently arrested for a DUI crash, was responsible for his brother’s death years ago in a “joyriding” accident. It doesn’t seem like alcohol was a factor in the first accident, but it hasn’t kept him away from sports cars (his recent crash was in a Porsche). Nancy Pelosi is a very moderate Democrat who, as far as I know, has supported SORNA and similar Federal rulemaking. Should we forgive our leaders’ misdeeds when they don’t support forgiving ours?

Has anyone heard of any specific reason why prosecutors or judges have denied a PFR’s petition for termination? I know the “TBD” excuse, but am wondering if any others have been used.

Janice – Is AB 218 where it opens window for civil lawsuits not a civil rights violation due to changing the statute of limitations after the fact? Have u challenged it in court or has anyone?
