“The DOGE Team is looking for world-class talent to work long hours identifying/eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. These are full-time, salaried positions for software engineers, InfoSec engineers, and other technology professionals.”

Surely we have these talented people somewhere amongst the MILLION+ of us? Or amongst our advocates?

In California is a tier 2 registrant’s employer listed on the web?

As I get closer to my petition date ( 50 days) I am becoming more acutely aware of how bad I screwed up my life. The petition was the only thing that kept me going forward. I kept telling myself that once this was over, my life would be my own again. That was complete crap. Now, if this is approved, what then. My life won’t change. And I will have nothing to push myself towards. I keep thinking of things I will try, but then I say to myself “Why?”. 10 yrs ago I lost everything. My relationships, my livelihood , my freedom. I have been on a continuous struggle sense then. I realize some judge granting some petition isn’t changing any of that. I keep thinking that just traveling to somewhere and “disappearing” is my best option. Like the homeless that die and no one even notices they are gone.

Things would be so different for me if I was able to expunge my record. Every time I bring it up to someone , they always come back at me with, “ It was a Misdemeanor and you didn’t even serve any time, just get it expunged”. Then I tell them I can’t and they say, “Of course you can! All misdemeanors get expunged”. Which only frustrates me more! I mention it here and all I get is, “Now is not the time to bring it up to legislators”. Which to me means, “It isn’t something we care to address because it’s too much work”.
I even spoke to my district rep. about it. I explained to him how it was allowed for my offense and then was changed, which to me meant that it was a political and not a legal issue. While sounding empathetic (a prerequisite for public office I found out), he didn’t feel it was a subject he wanted to tackle. I will die with this albatross around my neck because those that have the ability to change this are too damn chicken s*** to actually try. Not like I’m looking to introduce a new law, since this was the law to begin with. Hell, the Governors stop and start the death penalty practically every new election!

So if Judge Bernal decides to eliminate SORNA in ca or allows it in California, then either they appeal or the Pacific Legal Foundation , will file an appeal correct? Either way nothing‘s gonna happen anytime soon in regards to it correct? And if the judge decides for it in California, does the temporary injunction still stay in place? Until he renders the final decision from the appeals?

Where can I find a breakdown of current registrants by offense in California. I am scheduling an appointment with my district state representative and would like to go in more informed. I know there is a tier level breakdown, but would like to have by offense. If ACSOL won’t address what I feel is important to so many of us on the registry, I want to give it a shot myself.

Interesting a movie which glamorizes sex workers was recognized at the Oscars last night by giving an award to an individual from the movie which in real life would garner someone a seat on the registry.

Because we are better than they are. Don’t compare yourself to garbage or people will begin to think you are garbage.

Take it Down Act is trying to come to the Fed Laws near you:

The Senate Passed The TAKE IT DOWN Act, Threatening Free Expression and Due Process (EFF, 25 Feb 2025)

Earlier this month, the Senate passed the TAKE IT DOWN Act (S. 146), by a voice vote. The bill is meant to speed up the removal of non-consensual intimate imagery, or NCII, including videos that imitate real people, a technology sometimes called “deepfakes.”

Protecting victims of these heinous privacy invasions is a legitimate goal. But good intentions alone are not enough to make good policy. As currently drafted, the TAKE IT DOWN Act mandates a notice-and-takedown system that threatens free expression, user privacy, and due process, without addressing the problem it claims to solve.

S.146 – TAKE IT DOWN Act
“To require covered platforms to remove nonconsensual intimate visual depictions, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,”

Silly me I thought Trump was the covee or golf boy. In all honesty President Trump doesn’t bother me as much as those who are around him.

@ way to long, getting off that website means everything, ur life is like a video game, getting off is like pressing the reset button. Rebuilding ur life isn’t gonna happen over night BUT at least you have another chance at life and most Important you get to die in peace.
unfortunately, getting off the registry isn’t automatic and depending on what your conviction was the DA could deny your petition.
To get a glimpse at how it could or might go goole (290.5 the people vs)

Well, after 3 years, I just got banned from Nextdoor.com! This sicks because I was using it to advertise my side gig as a musician! Now, I guess I’ll have to go to Facebook or Instagram to advertise. I get $300 per booking!
When I told them I was a level 1 (lowest risk) and that there was no web entry on me. They apologized and said “they believe in reform but policy said that I could not be on the site”.

Another “ We don’t want you” moment. A former motorcycle riding friend who knows (but could care less) about my conviction suggested that we do a Bay Area to Alaska adventure ride, camping out along the way. He thought a way to restart a fresh way. Sounded good until I read that Canada won’t let you in with any criminal record. Not even a misdemeanor DUI is allowed. So there’s one more thing I can forget ever doing. They might let you off, but they never let you forget, do they.

There is a new bill in Oklahoma that would have the death penalty for sexual assault against anyone 14 and under.

The Defense dept. is currently scrubbing all images on their website that have the word “gay” in the description. This is because they( the president) feel it represents D.E.I.🤔 . Guess what is being scrubbed. All pictures of the “Enola Gay”. Yep. The plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima is homosexual. The plane named after the Pilot’s MOTHER is to be removed from historical records. They are also scrubbing the pics of any veteran that had the last name of Gay. You can’t make this stuff up. Who in the hell voted for this idiot.

***Minnesota Action Alert***

HF7 / SF0459 seems to retroactively add people to the registry who have received a stay of adjudication sentence for a sex offense. Currently people who receive this do not have to register once their sentence is completed. In MN currently a stay of adjudication sentence means that once you have completed the sentence you are not considered to have been convicted of the crime.
The reason this bill is so important is because the stay of adjudication sentence was often used for young people like with Romeo and Juliet types of offenses where a judgment call was made by a prosecutor and judge in a plea bargain to keep young people from being on the registry forever. While there is still an exception for juveniles, this tool should not be taken away from the judge. Worse, people who were told they would not have to register by taking a plea bargain of a stay of adjudication sentence at the time will now be forced to register. This is a terrible idea.

SF463 is another bad bill but it doesn’t seem to have much traction. It seeks to increase penalties for child pornography. While some of it is not so bad – like increasing the minimum sentences for those actually making the material and distributing for profit, it also raises the sentence for accidental distribution even if you receive it accidently by placing mandatory minimums on these offenses. Under the current law there is only a maximum sentence where a judge has discretion to decide what is appropriate based on the circumstances of the case.

If you live in MN (and maybe even if you don’t) you might want to write your legislators.

California’s Resentencing Program Shows Financial and Social Benefits, Study Finds
https://www.kqed.org/news/12030065/californias-resentencing-efforts-offer-second-chances-prompt-calls-for-broader-reform

Any way to tap into this sentiment to bring it into the tier regime?

If your homeless you have to go register every month, some of us will never be anything but homeless. Life sentence by default.

Heard that a group put the US on a Human Rights watch list due to what is happening now…Interesting, but I believe means nothing in reality, though would be nice if one could use this to claim refuge in another country.

Who’d have thought there are other causes for deviant behavior than an evil nature?

California. I am

  • a former registrant.
  • I am relieved of the requirement
  • and I obtained an expungement.

A friend recently suggested I get into real estate appraisal.

According to uncle Internet, I can not be summarily denied since I have the expungement. I still have to disclose it.

I would like to know if anyone out there has experience in this real (real estate) and can let me know if this is a waste of my time and money, or if I should be reasonably able to obtain a license and employment.

Thank you!

Did you in CA already know you have this law on the books? If not, read on. Of course, it is advocated to invoke your 5th Amendment right by many here in the forum when asked.

Here’s a New York Times article about a business that recruits plaintiffs to sue wealthy people, like P Diddy, or organizations, like the Boy Scouts, for sexual assault. It’s a whole industry, and the guy who runs a major company in it (out of Montana) said this:

“Predators don’t just do it to one person,” Mr. Van Arsdale said in an interview, “they do it to many, many people.”

This guy works closely with Tony Buzbee, the lead lawyer suing P Diddy and Jay Z. Today, this news just broke: A woman claims Tony Buzbee pushed her to lie about Jay Z assaulting her.

To me, this speaks volumes–we have an industry led by incredibly wealthy men who are pushing the lie that PFR commit crime after crime after crime, and they’re motivated to do so by money, so much so that they’re willing to get their clients to lie on the stand (allegedly). How much of the on-line backlash and hatred of PFRs is actually grass-roots, and how much is led by shady businesses that have a financial stake in poisoning the pot against us? In convincing the world that any kind of sexual assault is worse than murder, and that people accused of sex offenses have an endless list of victims because they can’t help themselves? The more people believe that we are horrible, unforgivable people, the more money people like Tony Buzbee and the folks at Reciprocity Industries make.

We’re fighting an entire industry. A very well-heeled one.

While we spend so much time here focusing on ways to alleviate , or at least mitigate, the registry, I feel it would be just as important these days to not forget the millions suffering because of actions taken by the current regime. While not for the same reasons, never the less we are in the same boat. Loss of jobs for no reason, ostracized from communities for nothing more than looking different, marked for life just for speaking up. It would be emotionally beneficial to go outside ourselves and at least acknowledge if not get involved in saving this country in any way possible. Some will say ( and I have been one) that this place isn’t worth the time, but for others it is.

Texas legislators are attempting to punish registrants by removing their Homestead Exemption on their property.
