A Santa Fe woman is suing the federal government over the beating death of her 72-year-old husband in a California prison after he was convicted on child pornography charges.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque, says prison officials are to blame for putting retired Wall Street attorney ____ _ ____ in a communal cell at the Victorville, Calif., prison with another inmate whom they knew was a danger to him. Full Article
First; I am curious how an inmate could learn of this man’s crime without the knowledge of those charged with this mans safety. This is sloppy at best, and complicit in this man’s murder at worst; I’m inclined to go with the worst scenario because this is not the first time some jailer has committed murder using an inmate as the murder weapon, and then feigning ignorance.
Second; how stupid are the authorities? You mean to tell me they haven’t learned that if you mix someone with a 290 conviction with the general population the end result is never good!!! That is unless this was something else; like murder by cop – again.

The Bureau of Prisons also ordered that Warren be kept separate from one inmate in particular, Frederick Ashley , who, the complaint alleges, was known to have committed violent assault on multiple sex offenders at Victorville and was the reason many inmate sex offenders requested to be placed in segregated housing.
But the opposite happened, according to the complaint, and Ashley and Warren were placed together in a communal cell not monitored by video cameras.”
I can’t believe anything other than this was another murder by someone with a badge who used an inmate as his weapon and alibi.
Does anyone wonder why anyone would hate cops and jailers?
Personal experience here. My first night in jail for allegations (awaiting trial), a guard enjoyed announcing to a series of mainline inmates that I was there for a sex crime against a minor. She seemed euphoric as she repeated it several times for all to hear. I don’t know what her goal was, but she certainly increased the danger of attack against me. I would not be surprised if this man was deliberately placed with his murderer and his murderer being informed immediately about the sex offender status of his cellmate. Hopefully, this lawsuit will be hugely successful and send a message to the entire incarceration system.
This was premeditated murder. The guards should be prosecuted.
