TX: Convicted Arizona sex offender must register in Texas

A three-judge panel with the Texas 14th Court of Appeals determined July 11 that a person must register as a sex offender in Texas if they were convicted of sexual abuse via Arizona law. Full Article

I hope he appeals, even though it’s a lost cause at the Texas Supreme Court. He’ll lose again, but it will give him a chance to appeal to SCOTUS. It’ll take years, and by then, odds of winning may improve. That is, assuming he can articulate a federal constitutional claim.

Sounds like they are comparing his charge to indecency with child by exposure. which is what I have. currently in probation for 5 years, but going to file petition to get off early. Texas also has a process for de-registering depend on what offense it is and completing therapy. I wonder if he would be eligible since his charges were long time ago? Is he being charged for failure to register? This story is alot like the one who moved out the country, then was being charged to failure to register while visiting his family in u.s. and I think SCOTUS overturned it in his favor.
