I give this interview a mixed review. I appreciate the opportunity to get the message out that no child in California has ever been assaulted while trick or treating. I regret the fact that the “story” included references to specific registrants and showed video of their homes and cars. When will the media realize that they are placing these individuals and those with whom they reside in harm’s way?
Showing where someone lives, their address, the street, and their cars not only puts the registrant at risk, but those of his family. It’s just sickening.
Our son, the registrant, is out of town working for the week. Will his wife, and their child, become the victims of the public registry then?
Good move on the anchorwoman’s part toward the end there in putting her on scene reporter in check and not dismissing the point Janice made.
I’m so tired of these ignorant reporters and journalists. This one referred to the RSO’s as “predators”…so little does she know.
Just got word that a federal judge has “partially” granted a temporary restraining order against Simi Valley’s Halloween ordinance. Signs will not be required outside registrants’ homes. While there is obviously an issue to be taken with the ordinance overall, the sign requirement was the most egregious and dangerous component of the ordinance and this should be taken as great news for those who were concerned for their safety and that of their families during Halloween when the sign would have been required.
