LOS ANGELES — A campaign to oust Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón kicked off Saturday evening as pressure mounts over his criminal justice reforms that critics claim have gone too far.
Recall advocates, including victims’ families and law enforcement officials, claim Gascón, who ran on a progressive campaign to implement sweeping change in the district attorney’s office, has prioritized criminals over victims since taking office less than three months ago.
In an emailed statement, Gascón said that “the pain and trauma of losing a loved one is immeasurable” and he “respects that some victims want me to impose the maximum punishment in their case.”
Even people without sex offenses face this kind of prejudice.
This shows that we registrants must take a long-term view in reforms and not expect quick results.
Lol, these “victim’s rights” groups are just proxies for the corrupt system. They’ve literally turned justice into marketing, the Kalifornia way. They infected the system by promoting and enacting unconstitutional legislation using “violent sex offenders” or “child molesters” as the conduit. A bunch of two-faced hacks, they sold the package deal and made off like bandits while covering up the cases of the falsely accused.

Let’s be real here. Sure, there are an inadequacies, inequalities, and deficiencies in the criminal justice system that need to be addressed. But they need to be addressed RATIONALLY .
HOWEVER, apparently Gascon is a criminal rights nut that is incapable of dealing with the problem rationally.
Sure, a DA is not needed whose philosophy is, “Hang them high one and all.”
But nor do we need a DA whose philosophy is to fling open the jail cells and let everybody out with a kiss on the forehead and an apology for being inconvenienced.
Before you think recalling this man is a bad thing, look at the many heinous individuals, vicious individuals, he wants to give a break to by not charging enhancements or not having his prosecutor show up to argue against parole.
Yes, criminal justice reform is needed, but Gascon’s brand of it is not the way to go.
Just let victim right groups and advocates become the prosecutor, judge and jury since they know law. This country is seriously a banana republic and a complete joke.

Orange County uses stricter and harsher punishment to keep people from Inland Empire and Los Angeles from coming to their county to commit crime.
I guess People are in downtown LA protesting against DA Gascon over this.
I watched a speech from the former president yesterday and he was using sex offenders to discredit the Biden Administration claiming the Biden administration stoped the capture and deportation of sex offenders living here illegally which is not true ICE and Home Land Security put this operation on hold.
Feels like another sex offender wich hunt is on it’s way nation wide

DAs aren’t supposed to impose sentences, judges are. Is he saying that judges just rubber stamp whatever the DA sticks in front of them? We all know that’s true, but to publicly acknowledge it is a bit unusual.
“Our system of justice can’t continue to rely on policies that create more victims tomorrow simply because some victims want the maximum punishment imposed in their case today.”
Sounds like the registry and registration laws.
Last year, during a political campaign event I attended, I had the opportunity to briefly speak with Mr. Gascón, as well as shake his hand. All I’m going to say is I had the impression that Mr. Gascón is a very good man. I felt very good vibes from him (and I feel like I could be a somewhat good judge of character). Mr. Gascón is putting action into words and literally trying to flip a corrupt system. I don’t know how you can be against that.
I hope Mr. Gascón keeps office and survives this “recall.” He’s surely better than Jackie Lacey.
