WA: ‘End SVP releases into our communities’: Residents push for new legislation regarding sex-offender housing

OLYMPIA, WASH. – Residents say they are being blindsided by the locations and sudden pop-up of facilities that will house the highest level of sex offenders. Now state lawmakers are pushing new bills to clear up the situation.

Residents in Tenino have been pushing against a Less Restrictive Alternative (LRA) facility since Jan.11.

On Friday, several gathered outside a facility in Olympia lining the street with signs saying “Keep Tenino Safe”, “Our community is not your guinea pig” and “Community over profit”.

The facility off Martin Way is owned by Supreme Living. It’s CEO, Angela Rinaldo, proposed the facility would be located next to a park, a lake and in the middle of a neighborhood.

Driven by fear these people are

One curious aspect of the SVP label is that some people are clinically diagnosed as a SVP while others were not declared via psychological exam but automatically received the designation because their victim was under 13 years old per SORNA, and are released from incarceration without and type of extra confinement. Its make zero sense to label one a SVP due to age of victim alone, and shows vindictiveness in that one is being treated worse because their victim was under a certain age.

Supreme Living’s owners and staff have been harassed and received death threats.”

Registries just help keep the peace don’t they?

Dude says If just 1 escapes its worth shoulering the cost for changes now LOL he we go with the “if its just 1 BS” yet all of the crimes and threats of violence are from the thugs that love these unconstitutional registries are the big threats ! I would rather have a place like this next to where I live than any of these commies . clearly they are the real danger , amazed they don’t drown while walking in the rain .
