California RSOL will hold its monthly meeting for April in San Diego, on April 13. It will be held at 1155 Island Avenue, Room 229, in downtown San Diego, 92101 at 10 am. As always, topics will include issues of importance to registrants, including updates on current litigation.
Only registrants, their friends and families and supporters are invited to attend. No media or government officials are allowed. There is no charge to attend the meeting.
Thank you Janice, and please let Alex know how grateful we are for his help.
The reason we are announcing this meeting as late as we are is because the University of San Diego School of Law refused to let us meet there a second time. Why? We don’t have “official word” yet. We were just told we’re not welcome. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time it’s happened. We can only hope it’s the last. And since I am an alum of the USD School of Law, I won’t be making any additional donations to that school….until and unless they change their policy.
The state still has training programs available for those out of work or looking for a change. Jeffrey and I went through the WIA program. If it could help us it can help others. This would be of great value to mention at the meeting. I hope all goes well.
Ummm. Comes as no surprise to me and should come as no surprise to any other registrant, registrants family, or registrants friends. I decided more two decades ago to “come out” as it were, with the appropriate amount of discretion mind you. Against the wishes of my family and friends,I chose inform the people and families with whom I would have regular or semi-regular contact or involvement of my long past, but not forgotten offense. I simply refused to have them find out about me any other way. They were going to hear the WHOLE story from me and then decide if they wanted to know me; And more importantly, after their reaction, if I wanted to know them. First, about how I was victimized and remained silent and untreated. Second, how I recycled that victimization onto others in much the same manner as what I experienced. Third, how after becoming a parent myself, how horrible and devastating sexual abuse was to my life, and more importantly, my victim’s lives. I was determined, as was my girlfriend, to prevent this from happening to our daughter through honest dialog with her about me, and how to migrate away from certain risky behaviors of others.
My daughter, now at 17, all my family and friends have witnessed, first hand, or from me having to tell them, “I can’t go with you”. I was denied a contractors license, (formerly) denied access to the beach to go surfing, parks, etc, etc, etc. Yes, I can say, it comes as no surprise to me, my family and friends this blind response and fear from the general public about registrants in general.
Janice, I can’t believe, after all you do for us, and all you see, you are surprised at USD School of Law’s change of heart. Well… my in my humble opinion, and I know many, if not all registrants in California, know they got it right with you…. Thank you Janice. You will continue to see the donations I gladly send to you and all at CA RSOL. I wish I could divert all my 20-25K of state and federal taxes to you. Lord knows the people who are getting my deceased parents’ hard earned money use it against me at every turn. You can expect to see my donations roll in after I learn how much I get to send up state to those wonderful people, who, much like in my childhood, want to extinguish my life. Not happening!!!
Thank you again Janice. See you in SD. 🙂
I’m very grateful to Alex Landon for finding this place for us… I hope that many will come out to the meeting. If you haven’t been before, I would like to assure you that it is safe and very friendly! Hope to see you there
