PA: Carbondale sued over Megan’s Law ordinance

A former Carbondale man forced from his home because his son is registered under Megan’s Law is suing the city and the mayor, alleging he was targeted for enforcement because he challenged the constitutionality of a city ordinance that limited where sex offenders could live.

____ ____ of Archbald claims his son, ____, was among 15 Megan’s Law offenders living in Carbondale in 2012, but he was the only one singled out by Mayor Justin Taylor for enforcement of the ordinance, which precluded registered sex offenders from living within 2,500 feet of a school, park or other areas where children might gather. That mayor needs to be taken out of his job and reassigned to a job at the local dump.

That would be too good. Hopefully the lawsuit will prevail and the family will be reimbursed for the cost of their move and for punitive damages as well.
Imagine that the mayor is the one enforcing this law and not the police or sheriff.
It really sounds like a guy on a mission – to bring down the constitution – and violate as many peoples’ civil rights as possible along the way.

Here come da judge…

Well, although they were evicted, in the end maybe this will be a double win. First, the ordinance was eventually rescinded so he and others are not subjected to being completely outcast. Second, now they’re suing the pants off the city and might get compensated for what they went through.

Millions a dollars …millions a dollars .
