For more than 20 years, states have been keeping public lists of convicted sex offenders. These registries are intended to help police and communities monitor the whereabouts of nearly 800,000 pedophiles and others found guilty of sexual crimes. Many people are listed for crimes committed when they were minors and not all are egregious: Sending a lewd text or public urination, for instance, can lead to sex offense charges. We sex offenders can not get a job housing a girlfriend a murder in calif get treated better then us ex sex offender.Example a lady is living whit a murderer right now an do not know it . Now answer that?
Even Victor Veith, the children’s safety advocate, stated, “The residency restrictions tend to push convicted adult offenders into rural areas, into disadvantaged communities that have fewer resources to manage the population. And we’re probably increasing, not decreasing the risk of recidivism. I think most criminal justice professionals would support that reform as well.”
If even the child victims advocate is saying this, maybe it’s time for lawmakers to start paying attention!!!
Let’s face it folks, we are no longer simply registrants, we are now targeted citizens and families confined to a quasi carnival duck shoot and at the mercy of anyone with a new weapon they want to try out. Quack quack!
You’re right. Those on the registry and their families are lightning rods, sitting ducks and soft targets. It’s actually wonton reckless endangerment and willful neglect. It is weaponized hatred.
So true. I read an article on national security (lawless oppression by government)and we registrants were placed right up there with ISIS terrorists by the author. I looked and can’t seem to find it again. If I do I’ll post a link.
It’s actually a silent genocide. The political cowardice is out of fear of becoming part of the controversy. This is what happens when a nation coddles, worships and glorifies the safety and welfare of children above all else.
We’re a sick society that takes delight in marginalizing others. We destroy people’s lives and then laugh about it. We don’t help these people. Instead we regard them as irreparably broken with no spare parts to fix, and deem them damaged goods while placing them Online for the whole world to see so complete strangers can point, snicker, and laugh. God bless America, indeed.
I heard a great qoute on Jon Stewart by expresident Clinton where he qouted Winston Churchill saying America always does the right thing only after they exaust everything else first.
