OK: Hundreds of convicted sex offenders missing in Tulsa area

According to Tulsa Police, there are hundreds of convicted sex offenders missing in the Tulsa area. However, just because they’re missing doesn’t mean they’re gone, said Sgt. John Adams with the Tulsa Police Department. …

According to Adams, the places where a registered sex offender can live in Tulsa have been greatly restricted since 2006.During that year, Oklahoma lawmakers passed a 2,000 law, stating sex offenders can’t live within 2,000 feet of a school, park, or any place where children live or play.

“2006 just turned our world upside down, prior to that we had 15 to 20 (failure to register) violations a year. Since that we have hundreds of violations a year,” said Adams. …

“I’m grounded to this spot, if I’m not here, we’re going to come and arrest you- why- I’m freezing? I have to choose between life and death to follow the law,” said Ben. Full Article

“”Get rid of everything and start all over. Get a legislative study, bring law enforcement in on the ground, and let’s get something that works for everybody,” said Adams.”

“Works for everybody?” Does that include those forced to register as sex offenders? The ones living in their cars and God knows where else? The ones out there freezing in the winter and suffering in the summer? I seriously doubt it. These people legislated themselves into this mess and they don’t even acknowledge, at least not publicly, that their laws don’t work.

Yeah does that mean they make the changes, and then “no harm, no foul”? Heck no, they’ll all be arrested. It may help in the long run, but those people who are “missing” are not going to come forward. The damage has already been done.

Missing sex offenders? Maybe aliens took them away, i.e. “The Eye of The Beholder (Outer Limits).”
