What is the benefit of sex offender registries again?

To replace the crackhead scapegoat from the 80s and 90s, of course. Thanks for the 3-strikes law, Slick Willie! It worked out so well, didn’t it? And thanks for IML, Barry O.! I’m sure it will be just as effective (but I cross fingers it takes less than 25 years to fix).

Why do bigots call Obama “Barry?” Is that code for something else, a word that starts with “N” perhaps? I ask because we all know his name is Barack.

I know you’ll attempt to come up with some lame excuse for it, but the fact of the matter is, it is a slight used to disparage our first black president. It’s vulgar and I find people that use it repugnant.

Barry was actually a nickname he choose for himself in high school to blend in more. But after he finished called in 1980, he asked his family to no longer call him that and to call him by his given name Barack. So while its not racist and was in fact a name of his own choosing, he asked to no longer be called that a long time ago and should be respected as any person. People that insist on still calling him that do it either out of ignorance or direct disrespect.

You don’t know me, so I request you refrain from judging me, let alone ascribing disparaging labels to me. As to why bigots do those things, you’d have to find one and ask him or her.

I guess you’re fine with Clinton being called Slick Willie, and that means absolutely nothing? I guess it’s okay to ascribe pejoratives to a white Southerner. I’m sure you never once called George W. Bush “Dubya” or anything other than the names by which he wishes to be called, or the title of President.

And for the record, kind sir, it’s 100% what AlexO says: direct disrespect. I don’t giving a flying f**k what his color, race, religion, creed, sexual orientation, favorite song, or ANYthing else is. I actually think he’s a very kind, understanding man. I just patently and vehemently disagree with his having signed IML.

I guess you are happy he signed it, Michael? Is everyone who’s mad at him for signing it a bigot and racist?

BTW, what race am I, Michael? It sounds like you’re assuming I’m not black. That’s certainly not prejudiced thinking on your part, is it?

Honestly, your line of thinking and assumption is hardly different than those of the people creating the abusive laws under which we’re all suffering. Blanket application without cause or proof.

The REAL “warnings” are FAKE!

Again, the cops shooting themselves in the foot, chasing their tails and spinning their wheels while patting themselves on the back and protecting no one.

I’d hazard a guess and say only 2% listed on Megan’s Law are a legitimate public safety concern.

well it would actually be less then 2%. if the reoffense rate is about 2% then you need to subtract the non contact offenenses cause they are not usually a immediate public safety concern for example cp. viewing it is not good but it still non contact

Then there are your public urinators, Romeo/Romeo & Romeo/Juliet cases or kidnapping [etc]. In California, murder, assault or annoying a child.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
