The homeless in Milwaukee’s Tent City have less than two weeks to clear out after the Wisconsin Department of Transportation ordered them out by Oct. 31 to make way for a construction project.
A federally funded nonprofit is taking on the mission of finding everyone a home to avoid forcing people out at the end of the month.

______ is a convicted sex offender and now no one will take him in.
“It sucks. It’s cold. There’s help for people. But most of them, it’s help for the women and the children. There’s nothing for us men out here,” ______ said.
“We definitely will work with people who are on the sex offender registry and try to work within that framework to get people housed,” said Emily Kenney, of Impact.
While it’s tough to see anyone homeless, it’s great to see that there is a group that is on the record as being willing to help registered persons as a class of individuals. When I was incarcerated, none of the typical agencies or groups would (or could) provide housing or employment assistance, which could have made my transition potentially disastrous if it were not for a newly formed Christian transition charitable organization that came to my aid just when I needed it.
Let’s celebrate, support financially, and give some great feedback to Impact and similar organizations that help anyone, regardless of their past. It’s a way we can give a helping hand to the person coming after us. I only wish there were more people out there like Ms. Kenney.
Are you reading this Ron Book?
Cool CA,
As for WI version on Mr. R Book that would be James Sensenbrenner (R) https://sensenbrenner.house.gov
Course we’ve got lefties in support as well. Tammy Baldwin Senator n lap licker of the deep state benevolent types like Sensenbrenner. Sensenbrenner ‘s support of the now recognized unconstitutional AWA as applied to pre Whetterling act persons is well documented. Both parties naturally deny the impact of their own choices. Unemployment & homelessness & ostricision & speech deprivation all on the foundation of database use.

You’re exactly right. He’s also the one who has sponsored the reauthorization of AWA every time it’s needed. It’s suuuch a shame he’s announced he’s leaving Congress (https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2019/09/04/wisconsins-jim-sensenbrenner-wont-seek-22nd-term-u-s-house/2215112001/). I guess 42 years is enough.
I had the “pleasure” of knowing a couple of his nephews. There’s something in that family’s gene pool that is not pleasant.
AJ,
No doubt Sensenbrenner lead the charge on the AWA reauthorization. One look at the make up of his district(5th) he’s represented proves his motivation is career oriented as an R. He is as born in Chicago and his entire life was political. Sensenbrenner played a large role in 1994 WI ACT 98, Wisconsin’s version of Wetterling 175.45 et. al. That bill was spoon fed by then AG Doyle to WI congress via OMNI94. And thus the indenture of human without process began. I wasn’t there the day Wi indentured me, but I had right to be ” present” since I refused to waive right and demanded trial. They began the SOR POSTING contrary to Constanteneau 430 US 400. Holding Doyle accountable is my ultimate goal.
Ron Book/Crook is too drunk to be reading anything these days. He is probably out driving around drunk and looking for the next people to run over. If there is a God, he’ll be gone soon. Lauren Book/Crook too. How big of a criminal do you have to be to be a legislator and actually vote for and lobby for your own “charity” that pays you?! Then have the cojones to say that your pay from there comes from “other funds” (which wouldn’t be available if your legislature wasn’t paying them to cover all kinds of other things)! You’ve got to marvel at how these criminal politicians just shove their crimes right in your face these days.
Emergency and temporary housing helps. Thanks Emily. Permanent housing is needed though, otherwise those offenders will be displaced once again and the cycle will continue.
