QUINCY (WGEM) – There’s a change to a law that has to do with possession of child pornography.
Legislators closed a loophole that allowed family members found to be in possession of child pornography to escape jail time.
Starting on Jan. 1, possession of child pornography when the child is a household or family member is a non-probational offense. This means the offender will serve jail time if convicted.
Previously, this category of offenders could receive a sentence of probation for their pornography conviction.
Closing a loophole, my ass. This sounds like it just makes it easier for the Stasi to lock people up for innocent pictures of their own bubble-bearded kids in the bathtub.
Well
i guess everyone in Illinois better watch out especially if your tot, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are pictured in the tub, on the toilet, running outside naked, and anything else kids do. What rube comes up with these bills? What are they doing behind closed doors?
Just means Grandma taking photos of her naked bathing grandchildren will now be sentenced to prison.
So… Due to police “advancement in technology”, they were able to detect CP better; according to the argument.
I’m not entirely sure how this alone shows that children, consignees and dependent minors are any less safer with father/uncle/brother/cousin serving probation at home outside of jail. Apparently, they didn’t cover that in the article.
We know what this means. In situations of genuine abuse, Families will be more afraid of law enforcement, therapists, and other authorities and are more likely to cover it up. More children get abused. But that’s okay I guess, because these politicians and prosecutors don’t actually care about children’s welfare. More important to appear “tough on crime”. Just the law enforcement and political lobby being snivelling, hypocritical scum, utterly unworthy of the slightest bit of respect the herd public mindlessly give them.
