Source: 12/18/22

A prison officer has been jailed after entering a relationship with a prisoner and sending him ‘explicit’ images. Jennifer Gavan, 27, wept as she was jailed for eight months after pleading guilty to misconduct in public office after starting an inappropriate relationship with a male prisoner.

Gavan was accused of entering into an inappropriate relationship with prisoner Alex Coxon, now 25, accepting £150 to bring a mobile phone into the jail, and communicating with him via a phone held illegally while working at HMP Berwyn, which houses more than 2000 inmates.

If it was not for her giving him the phone i would say why should they care and whatever happened to conjugal visits anyways.

Here’s what I find the most disturbing about all this.

Look at her picture. Now look at his picture. Now do a side by side in your head. Clearly, these two people are close, blood relations! They have got to be First Cousins…if not more closely related!

Is it just me? Am I the only one that sees this? Couldn’t resist pointing that out. 😉

She slipped him a phone. They hooked up. Ok, fire her. She didn’t abuse this man. She didn’t strong arm him into bed. She didn’t send him to solitary until he agreed to…
She wasn’t spraying him down with a fire hose, to force compliance to her desires. He’s well over the age of consent and majority. Under any other circumstances, all would be well with this….other than maybe my 1st Cousin theory.

Fire her, yes. Can’t have this, too dangerous for a variety of reasons. Take his cookies away and tell him he’s been naughty and not to do this again. Case closed. Everybody moves on.

“Defence barrister Simon Rogers said he’d since “done his best to turn his life around”.
The judge said Coxon had an “appalling” record.”

That’s it? That’s the end of the article? What was his “appalling” record? What happens to Conan next? The article was really just about her, the prison guard. But nothing about the inmate she tried to seduce.
