Congress has approved legislation aimed at keeping people convicted of child sex crimes out of union leadership positions.
Michigan Congressman Tim Walberg, who chairs the House Education and Workforce Committee, praised passage of the Ending Predator Access to Union Power Act.
The bill adds sex offenses against minors to the list of convictions that can bar someone from serving in certain union offices or jobs.
…

And I thought the registry is not punishment.
F**K Congress!!!
How about congress people that have used the sex assault allegation funds to pay people to keep quiet? there are about 50 names that Nancy Mace is trying to get released for having accusations of relations with interns. Shouldn’t they be banned from congress positions, I mean, those are leadership positions, and paying someone to shut up, well…that is as good as a conviction.
But this law is total discrimination. If a person has served their sentence in good faith, fulfilled all requirements, then they are back into the mix of the population. Same with someone who has a DUI, or any other offense. They bare targeting a specific group, and I would like to see ACSOL challenge the validity box this.
I love how they add rules and say it’s not punishment but civil. Backtrack in some of the courts because of ex post facto etc. And then add more crap. When will this end? I feel like a jewish person during the holocaust. The irony.
