ACSOL Conference Schedule Now Available

The schedule for ACSOL’s annual conference to be held on October 14 and October 15 in Los Angeles is now available.  The first plenary speaker for the conference will be sociologist Emily Horowitz who will discuss her years of research regarding registrants described in her newly published book, “From Rage to Reason.”

Dr. Horowitz’s presentation will be immediately followed by a panel of three registrants described in that book, who have succeeded in life despite the daily challenges of the registry.  The registrants are Shawn Rolfe, PhD, Norman Harris of the University of Houston and attorney Zach Jesse.

The conference will also include panels regarding employment opportunities and housing opportunities for registrants and their families. Domestic and international travel recommendations will be provided in a different panel.  Yet another panel will focus on the Tiered Registry Law and how to successfully petition for removal from the registry.

Early bird discounts at a rate of $50 are still available for the two-day conference during the month of August.  That discount will expire on September 1.  Scholarships are available upon request.  It’s easy to sign up for the conference using the link below.  We look forward to seeing you there!
