Other than just to be mean, the only reason I can even imagine for this new law would be to try and price RSOs out of the housing market so they go elsewhere. Nothing like an unjustified tax hike to try and drive people out of the state. Of course, those on supervision will be stuck and forced to pay the higher taxes just because they’re mean.

And they say the registry isn’t punitive! Unbelievable!

And this is supposed to protect the public how? What is next? Registrants are not allowed electricy, or water, or natural gas, or phone? I can’t see how this bill could constitutionally pass because exempting someone from paying lesser taxes in no way could prevent ANY crime of any kind. This is a PURE HATE BILL!!

This would be a great topic to discuss with other Legislators?

This is utterly and completely indefensible. There is no way anyone can look at this and conclude anything other than…

Other legislators, outside of TX, are ok with this? No problem with continuing to support a pogrom that produces these results?

We should continue to support the pogrom no matter how corruptly, and needlessly destructively it is used? No use of the Pogrom, no matter how corrupt, should call anything into question?

At what point does the use of the word, “Collaborator” become valid?

I sure hope this doesn’t go nationwide.

They don’t want us to enjoy the freedoms and liberties of “normal” citizens, and now were being attacked for the perks of home ownership This is economic terrorism!

This is NOT normal !!

What a vicious and imbalanced piece of legislation…

I’ve been doing contract work for a long time before I ended up in the registry. Recently I had opportunity to work for tesla in engineering role but their adverse action told me they are not able to employ me. I am crushed. Let alone most companies wont hire someone that is on the registry….
