FL: USF Reports Residency Restrictions Ineffective

FAC came across the following presentation on a study from the University of South Florida, showing the effects of residency restrictions in Tampa, Florida.

The conclusions were that residency restrictions have been ineffective. In fact, recidivism and the number of sexual crimes increased following their implementation.

For all who want to watch this, my viewing shows the topic is introduced at 1:09:00 and goes to 2:02:30.

Which should be common sense. Just because someone cant live somewhere doesnt mean they cant come to the area. If someone wants to kidnapped, etc. they will do it regardless of some stupid law. Just like banning all felons from having a firearm, even if they didn’t even have a gun in their crime) is stupid, because a criminal that wants to use a gun to commit a crime will still obtain a gun regardless. People on the registry should have a right to defend themselves and their families from would be attackers.
