Draft law banning pedophiles from entering Russia submitted to Duma

MOSCOW, September 16 (RAPSI) – United Russia lawmaker Alexander Sidyakin proposed the imposition on foreign child molesters of a 50-year ban on entry into Russia, and submitted a draft law on the matter to the State Duma for review.

The proposed amendments would effectively bar foreigners from entering Russia if they were prosecuted for sexually abusing children in Russian Federation or abroad. The ban would also include individuals convicted of having produced child pornography or participated in child prostitution.

The bill’s sponsor claims that he enjoys the support of Russia’s Children Rights ombudsman Pavel Astakhov. An addendum to the bill cites the UN Human Rights Commissioners office, in asserting that the child sex tourism industry can turn a profit of up to $20 trillion annually. Source

I believe that each case is unique and should be reviewed before Denied entrance. Every case is unique and I think all facts should be taken into account. All cases are unique and if this law passes or is placed into effect it could be classified as an act of discrimination. Like I said before all cases are unique and should be reviewed on details.

The age of consent in Russia is 16. Commit a sex crime here with a 16 yr old, you get jail, prison, registration. You’re also going to be banned from traveling to Russia where your crime here is legal.
Well, no more Russian vodka for me!

$20 Trillion dollars annually??? Holy Crap!!!! That’s like 40 times our military budget. I suspect someone is being a bit generous with that figure.

50 years is more forgiving than many of our states!
