COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Ohioans can see whether phone numbers, email addresses or screen names belong to registered sex offenders under a new feature added to the state’s online database.

So much for the privacy and constitutional rights of the family members. What’s next, their underwear size and color?
I think Ohio has decided to compete with Texas, Florida, and Louisiana as the worst state for registrants.
Here’s a totally wild and logical idea, let’s just post every detail about everyone (of all ages) and have the data automatically update when the smallest change occurs (like losing 1/16 of a pound after using the bathroom). Then let’s track who is viewing a particular person’s data (oh by the way make sure it’s possible for the system to know what specific information is being looked at) in real time and everyone can feel safer knowing pretty much everything about everyone else all the time. I mean really this is where that line of idiocy leads.
Complete violation of privacy and for what? Just so some overly concerned people with nothing better to do than worry about every infinitesimal thing as if it is a life or death matter? Occupy your days with more a constructive, beneficial, and diplomatic use of your relatively short life. In other words unless you do something really amazing a couple generations after death your entire life’s efforts will be basically meaningless on the grand scale of human survival and even then unless you had a huge global impact within a few hundred years your existence won’t be remembered.
I can’t see how this could serve any useful purpose or how anything good can come of this. This state is gaining on Florida for total disregard law and order.
