GREAT NEWS! Governor Kehoe signed SB 982 into law on May 6, 2026. This will restore the path for removal from the Registry that was previously enacted in 2018. The law will go into effect on August 28, 2026.
Thank you to our dedicated lobbyists, Sarah Schlemeier Henke and former state senator, Jeff Smith, for their tireless work behind the scenes, pushing this bill through all the stages in both chambers and with the Governor’s office. Thank you to our volunteers and DONORS! You made this possible.
This is the first of many reforms that we hope to make in Missouri’s extremely challenging laws concerning folks with sex offense convictions. Our work is not done.
On another note, we seem to have successfully stopped the pool bill that would have affected so many in a negative way. Thank you to all who contributed their stories. The legislative session ends Friday, May 15.

That’s awesome!
Good news outta the state of Misery.
Great news! And it is nice to see the support in MO!
Praise God!!!!!!!! That is good news!!
under SORNA is registration still required? and if so how when there is no SORNA registry?
Misery must be seeing the writing on the wall that if they continue their status quo behavior regarding sex laws that they will face backlash from Lobbyists and even see Janice in court. Keep showing the show me state the writing on the wall and don’t let the knuckle heads in Jefferson City get away with nonsense bills. Together we stand, divided we fall, and someday hopefully the registry will be taken to the United States dump at the hands of Janice and other advocates.
What a great group of people
I am very much in favor of supporting the lobbyist and really appreciate their efforts.
Keep up the good work!!!
