A Maryland mom is back at it in Annapolis at the State House next week working to create tougher penalties for child sex abusers.
Annie Kenny is fighting to pass the Sex Offender – Lifetime Supervision bill.
The 2021 versions are HB531 and SB333.
We first told you about Kenny in 2019.
Mom wants Maryland sex offender laws changed to better protect children.
The bill would mandate that anyone convicted of sexually abusing a minor in the State of Maryland, which makes them a Tier III Registered Sex Offender for life, would also place them on probation for life, instead of just the current 5-year probationary period.
“This is my third year trying to get this bill passed, and I am really hopeful that this year will be one. Every year this doesn’t get passed, we miss out on so many more offenders that this won’t be able to apply too,” says Kenny,
Two years ago Kenny began her crusade with a change.org petition that people can still sign to support her efforts at #Savethechildren Better Sex Offender Laws to Protect our Children
…
The petition describes what happened to her family after an ex-husband was convicted of attempted sex abuse of a minor,…
Another case of the angry ex. Wish people could see this for what it is.
Is she trying to get the role of Wicked Witch of Maryland? Here’s an idea, not everyone is like your ex husband and shouldn’t be treated like there are him. If she doesn’t want her kids to be around him, then go to court.
Sounds like a personal problem to me shes just mad the court can’t and Won’t take His kids away from him.
This has nothing To do with saving children this is her getting revenge on this man she was sleeping with and now she’s gonna make everyone else suffer with the help of Megan’s law website
Good luck
First, I’d like her to show one single example of a “new child sex assault where legislative negligence was a factor.”
Second, I’d like to know if she’s soliciting donations to her cause and if so, how that money is spent. I’m not on social media, so I can’t find out for myself.
“Tougher” will eventually get to a point to where the only way these people will be satisfied is if they can personally dismember offenders and feed the body parts to hungry rabid dogs while being televised on Public Television.
Lawmakers can’t not make new laws. They just have nothing better to do.
Except for maybe making FAIR and JUST laws, but I guess that’s never a goal these days.
So more punishment in the name of prevention?? Brilliant. 🙄
Lawmakers get ideas from the recycling bin filled with cobwebbed playbooks of politicians from the dead. Same idea just a different group to screw over. As for regular folks just because you got involved in a situation which caused harm, doesn’t mean you take out your vengeance on others. Not my fault that you invited a person who might of done something horrible into your home or bed.
