Indian student arrested in US, conned elderly couple of $50K with child-porn ruse

An Indian student in the US who scammed a Michigan couple of $50,000 by claiming their credit card was used to purchase child pornography, was arrested. The police suspect the money has been routed to India. This is the fourth such arrest in three weeks, as Indian students have been arrested for targeting elderly Americans in fraud schemes.

Headlines like this will certainly get ICE knocking on some Indian students’ doors. Could they possibly have picked a worse time for their dangerous shenanigans?? Not very smart. 😒

Every culture has it’s criminal element. Seniors are especially vulnerable. Worked at a senior residential facility yrs ago. The seniors would hire caregivers and then those people would give them sob stories about needing money to pay for car repairs, rent, anything that they thought would get the resident to open their wallets. Even steal jewelry. Really despicable.

I have no empathy for anyone, no matter the skin color or culture, who try or actual rip off seniors. Good observation by David…
