LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHP) — Angry comments, messages, and calls are flooding the inbox of the Lewistown Police Department, over an arrest police say they’re not sure they can legally make.
The department said the calls started this past week after YouTuber posted the contact information for the department because it didn’t arrest someone the content creator claimed was a child sex predator.
In a long Facebook post, the department explained why it didn’t arrest the person and shared some of the nasty comments had come its way over the past few days.
You guys are a bunch of pedophile defenders and you should be ashamed of yourselves, quit your job since you don’t want to protect and serve the people.
Shame on your department allowing self admitted sexual predator back out into your community that’s insane I hope you know your people deserve better.
Predator protector police?!
The Lewistown Police Department said the case started back in October. That’s when a YouTuber from Texas made a “predator catcher” video in the town.
Police said in the video, the YouTuber engaged in an online conversation with a homeless male staying at a shelter, while the YouTuber was pretending to be a 14-year-old girl. Officers…

This hunter needs to be civil committed for being a threat to society.
Goes to show ignorance of the people there and their lack of knowledge about protecting the citizens as seen here (which I have mentioned here previously and borrowed the below from Google AI:
“The Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that police do not have a general constitutional duty to protect individual citizens from harm, despite the “To Protect and Serve” motto, due to the “public duty doctrine,” meaning their duty is to the public at large, not specific people, unless a “special relationship” (like custody) is formed, as seen in cases like Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005), etc.”
Now, if the person is subsequently harassed or attacked due to the publicity of this matter…
Isn’t this a form of incitement, inducement and brigading? JFC same thing happened in Salem when there was no Internet, only alley whsipers and tavern rumblings.
Imagine spending all your time and energy wanting to hang someone from a lamp post for talking to someone that doesn’t even exist. THEN, pandering and stoking outrage to the locals for not following through with it.
The only “predators” I want off the streets are the ones pretending to protect children for likes. comments and subscribe button hits..
Too many civilians want to be cops nowadays. Maybe this YouTuber should lose some weight, get signed up for the police academy, past the tests and become an officer. 🤗 It really doesn’t take much, because the bar for that profession is pretty low.
The Lewistown PD are doing the right thing and I appreciate that they stated in their Facebook post that 90% of child sex abusers are family members and close associates. It’s rare that LE or politicians would not only admit that they know that fact but also put it out there to the public
