In my post of the 21st I basically explained how the U.S. House VIOLATED its own rules of procedure when passing International Megan’s Law act (HR-4573). I find it very disturbing that lawmakers expect the nation to follow rules while they violate them with impunity, but I guess that is some kind of a lawmaker’s code. Commentary

I would like to write my senator regarding this bill. What is the senate bill number and title?
I for one since I’ve learned of the web site am beginning to see just how big of a circus ths all is and that the center ring (law makers) are nothing but a bunch of clowns.
Has any of these individuals checked to find the age of consent in Europe ranges in age from 13-18 with for example Sweden 13 France, Sweden 15, Russia, UK Switzerland 15. Canada is 16. Even in the United States 31 of our states considers and this includes Washington DC 16 as the age of consent. California is one of the few states with 18 as the age of consent. The number of registrants in California, I will add would be considerably lower if the age of consent was 16 like the majority of states in the US. So my point being what is the point of passing legislation when their is such a variance in the age of consent.
Thanks, Q, for posting those links. I know how to contact my senator.
In our local state legislature (not California), the bills, even if they are the same for both house and senate, often have different numbers. I don’t know if it is the same for the US congress.
This article/post, asking us to take action and contact our senator, tells us that International Megan’s Law act (HR-4573) has passed the US House of Representatives and is now headed to the senate.
Before I can write my senator about my concerns, I need to know the specific bill number and title that will be presented to the senate. Is it exactly the same title and number as the one that passed the house? If not, does anyone know the bill number and title being presented to the senate?
Once I have accurate information I can also write to everyone I know and ask them to contact their senator, too… but I need to make sure what I am telling them to do is accurate or else the effort will be wasted. I only get one chance at this.
Thank you in advance.
